Delivery Unit
The specialized services of the delivery unit at Mehrayin Hospital include natural childbirth, acceptance of incomplete abortions, visits and triage for low-risk, high-risk, and risk-free mothers, pregnancy education, physiological childbirth, and breastfeeding education in a calm and pleasant environment. This unit prioritizes natural childbirth due to its countless advantages compared to caesarean section surgery
This section, using triage, recovery, pain room, process room and also operating room; performs physiological delivery, natural painless and less drug and non-drug delivery, cesarean section, and provides prenatal services with the presence of resident anesthesiologists, specialists in obstetrics and trained midwives. One of the advantages of this section is the priority of having equipped operating room so that in special conditions and necessity, cesarean section can be performed without wasting time.
The labor block of MehrAyeen Hospital has the following programs:
• Primary examination of all pregnant and non-pregnant referrals and diagnosis of cases leading to delivery, emergency cases and hospitalization indications.
• Examination and preparation of patients with diagnosis of incomplete or forgotten abortion, etc. for transfer to the operating room.
• Performing procedures for termination of pregnancy in cases of IUFD according to the physician's order.
• Pre-entry training for mothers such as breastfeeding, postpartum hygiene training, etc.
• Performing photography and filming services.
• Possibility of mother and baby cohabitation in recovery and delivery beds by special midwives.
• Holding prenatal and delivery preparation classes and breastfeeding.
• Control and management of natural childbirth attendants according to the treating physician's orders until the end of delivery and continuation of it for at least two hours after delivery.
• Acceptance and preparation of cesarean section patients and their care until transfer to the operating room.
• Presence of midwives in the process room to determine the Apgar score, provide initial care for the newborn and perform initial breastfeeding and skin-to-skin contact between mother and baby.
• Supervision of high-risk pregnant mothers and performing necessary care according to the treating physician's orders.
• Performing NST and interpreting it and informing the physician in outpatient and hospitalized patients.
• Possibility of husband's presence during normal delivery in special conditions and with prior coordination.
